Take Back the Night

“To educate students about the widespread problem of sexual assault.”

Sigma Chi took place in Lehigh's annual “Take Back the Night” march on Monday, April 23. The march began at Lookout Point and proceeded through the rest of “The Hill”. Throughout the march everyone was silent, the only noise being the ring of a bell every minute to signify how often rape occurs in the U.S.

When the march entered The Quad, everyone began chanting, breaking the silence, until it concluded outside Stoughton Hall. Located here was a memorial plaque dedicated to Jeanne Clery, a Lehigh student who was raped and murdered on-campus April 5th, 1986.

Preceding the march, all those who participated were given the opportunity to speak out to the rest of the group.
